Mended Reeds Mental Health has been an integral part of behavioral health treatment in Southeastern Ohio for over 10 years.  The overriding mission of our company is to provide an array of services that supports the integration of health and human services across a variety of systems.  We offer traditional behavioral health services including individual, group and family counseling services to adults and children using techniques including CBT, DBT and Trauma Focused therapy in a wide variety of locations.  In addition to our traditional mental health services, Mended Reeds also offers Alcohol & Drug Addiction services, including outpatient, intensive outpatient and residential recovery services for adults.  We are certified by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OMHAS) and the Council on Accreditation (COA) to provide full services to those struggling with addiction and mental health issues.

We are known throughout Lawrence County as the preferred treatment provider for at-risk youth and we have worked extensively in the areas of family preservation and parenting education.  Our clinicians provide services in a variety of settings including schools, home based treatment and residential treatment along with group and individual counseling at our offices which are conveniently located in downtown Ironton.

Can You Hear Me?

Roughly 50% of adults with severe mental disorders are affected by substance abuse; for adolescents that number is nearly 80%.  Rarely do people know if they have a dual problem.  A person with a mental illness, such as depression, schizophrenia, or bipolar disorder, might use alcohol or other drugs to cope with their illness. This self-medication leads to a co-occurring or dual disorder.

Addicts that have undiagnosed or untreated mental illness are most certain to fail in their battle for sobriety.  That’s why it is imperative that chronic addicts also receive counseling services that recognize possible mental illness.

At Mended Reeds, we have gone the extra steps necessary to provide licensed Mental Health (ODMH) and Alcohol & Drug Addiction (ODADAS) services, to address the complexities of dual disorders.

Co-occurring Disorders

We Listen, and We Care

Our psychiatrist, nurses, therapists, and case managers take an integrated behavioral health approach.  This reduces the likelihood of relapse while identifying if there are co-occurring mental health symptoms.

Experts within the medical, mental health and substance abuse fields agree that there needs to be an integrated approach for effective treatment.  It only makes sense to find a provider that can accomplish this under one plan.

Give us a call.  If we can’t meet the needs of someone you care for, we will refer you to others who can.
